THE FOUR SEASONS

The nude figure is one of the most alluring, erotic, or stimulating subjects that can sway perceptions and encourage conversation and debate. I typically explore the nude body because of its vulnerability and effect on societal standards. This series explores the human body and personifying the four seasons into beings that express my ephemeral thoughts and feelings about each annual interval. Each season depicts a model in a figure pose or position that is indicative of the season they embody. 

Spring is a jubilation of life in blues and greens. Spring is youthful, weightless, and lively, sweeping across a vignette of impressionistic marks indicative of flowers and plant-life, with pop culture, kitschy doodles, and godly etherealness as inspiration. 

Summer epitomizes radiating energy through its symmetrical composition. Summer is drenched in golden rays, a mixture of groovy aesthetics and sunset vibes, with 1970s imagery, radial symmetry, and psychedelic twilight colors as inspiration. 

Fall is an urban harvest of street appeal, identity, and aesthetics. Fall is an enigma, piecing together the remnants of Summer with the anticipation of Winter, with suggestive charm, an alluring tribalism of shapes and colors, and Neo-Expressionism as inspiration. 

Winter is slumped in a comforting evocative slouch, transcending through space in its stillness. Winter reminds me of TV static, white noise, and rigid pattern-work, with 1960s TV hosts and Gustav Klimt’s intricate, geometric designs as inspiration. 

All four works tether together; creating a vertical rectangular orientation that suggests growth, stature, and majesty.
